Professor Randy Pausch (above with wife Jai and 3 children), author of the remarkable and inspiring book “Last Lecture,” has passed away on 25 July, 2008, at the age of 47. A dear friend to Diane Sawyer and ‘Good Morning America,’ Pausch’s lecture and subsequent interview was one of the most powerful accounts of hope, grace and optimistism ‘GMA’ has ever featured, and drew a worldwide response. I had heard about him from my friend Celia and once I clicked on the video clip of the Last Lecture (see my previous post), I was bowed over by this incredible man.
I think everyone should take a slice out of his lecture. Absolutely inspiring and amazing.
Like what he says, we can’t choose the cards we are dealt with, but it’s up to us how we play them.
Note: Watching the full clip of The Last Lecture is highly recommended. Do also catch the clips ABC made of the interview Diane Sawyer subsequently conducted with Randy and his wife.
